Who we are
We're Kind Advisory Pty Ltd (ABN 22 608 598 705) ("Kind", "we", "us"), a specialist technology recruitment agency. We take your privacy seriously and are committed to protecting your personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
To help connect you with the right roles and opportunities, we may collect:
- Contact details (name, phone, email, address)
- Career information (CV, work history, qualifications, references)
- Sensitive information (e.g. work rights, health information, background checks) only when relevant and with your consent
- Information from public sources like LinkedIn, job boards, or referrals
- Information from your use of our website, including application form submissions, IP address, device and browser details, and cookies (see "Our website" below)
If you give us details of a referee, please make sure they're happy for you to do so.
How we collect it
We collect information directly from you (for example when you apply for a role, email us, or speak with us), from your referees, and from public sources. If we find your details on a public source and think you may be suited to a role, we may contact you about it. You can ask us to stop at any time.
How we use your information
We use your information to:
- Connect you with job opportunities, whether permanent or contract
- Assess your suitability for roles and present you to clients
- Communicate with you about new opportunities, market insights, and events
- Meet legal or regulatory obligations
We may also send you relevant information, like newsletters and updates. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and we'll action unsubscribe requests promptly and within five business days.
Use of AI and automated tools
We use software and AI-assisted tools to source, match and organise candidate information. Decisions about whether to put you forward for a role are reviewed by a person at Kind.
Sharing your information
We may share your information with:
- Our clients, but only with your knowledge and consent. If you're introduced for a contract role, the client engages and pays you directly, and handles your information under its own privacy policy.
- Trusted service providers (IT, CRM, AI and sourcing tools, background checks, email systems)
- Overseas providers (e.g. data hosting or processing providers) where required
We take reasonable steps to ensure overseas providers handle your information consistently with the APPs.
We will never sell your data to third parties.
Our website
When you use our website we may collect technical information such as your IP address, browser type, pages visited and referring site. We may use cookies and analytics tools to help us understand how visitors use the site and to improve it. You can block cookies in your browser settings, but parts of the site may not work properly if cookies are disabled.
Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as it's useful for recruitment purposes or as required by law. If we haven't had meaningful contact with you for 5 years, we'll delete or de-identify your information, unless we're legally required to keep it.
Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct or update your details
- Withdraw consent or object to direct marketing at any time
- Ask us to delete or de-identify your information where we're no longer required to keep it
- Deal with us anonymously or under a pseudonym where practicable (in most recruitment situations this isn't possible, as we need to know who you are to represent you)
Protecting your information
We store information securely and take reasonable steps to protect it from misuse, loss, or unauthorised access. If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we'll notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) as required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
Contact us and complaints
For any privacy question, access or correction request, or complaint, email ellis@kind-advisory.com. We'll respond within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.
Updates to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version will always be available on our website.
